The Old Coach House is a modernised, semi-detached, Dorset cottage, built of stone which makes it cool in the summer and cosy in the colder months.
Traditional features such as the living room wood burner sit side by side with modern additions, like oil-fired central heating, the LCD television, wireless broadband connection and the contemporary, well-equipped kitchen and two bathrooms. Up to eight or nine people can be accomodated in the cottage’s four comfortable bedrooms (two with televisions), and both the sun room and back garden are great places to enjoy the weather and the surrounding countryside views. The Old Coach House is situated on a pleasant triangular green, close to Bridge Farm, with good access to the roads out of the Village in all directions, and has private parking for three cars.
The kitchen and adjacent utility room are equipped with a washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, microwave and electric cooker. One of the four bedrooms is located on the ground floor, and one bathroom features a walk-in shower, making life easier for people with mobility difficulties.
Old Coach House Reviews
“We had a great time and loved the house, its location and the quietness. The house was perfect for us and my parents and allowed for some much needed family catch up. The house itself was spacious and comfortable with everything you need. As party of 8 the house offered plenty of break out space whilst accommodating us as a group when spending time together in the evening.
There are some great walks to be taken from the house, a plus as we had our dog Lottie with us and ample parking for our two cars.
We would highly recommend staying at Pauline’s place and very much enjoyed our time.”
The Sawyer Family
Quiet rural spot but with easy access to Beaminster for shopping etc, good location as base to explore surrounding towns and trips to the coast. The cottage is well equipped and very comfortable with plenty of space and parking for a number of cars. Pauline and Heather were friendly hosts and happy to answer questions before and during our stay.

Really lovely comfortable, spacious, well equipped house with a large garden surrounded by beautiful countryside. Excellent and very helpful communication. The house was spotless. We loved the quiet - no noise whatsoever apart from birdsong. We had a lovely family holiday exploring the Jurassic coast and had lots of great days out. Thank you Pauline for a very relaxing and happy Dorset holiday!

- Lovely quiet village setting, the cottage is homely and practical for families
- We were 2 families with 4 young children (aged 2-6) between us and the children loved the garden and the farm visit (with the host) was a highlight for them and educational
- There is a BBQ in the shed and we had a great evening using this and sitting in the garden
- We did a day in West Bay (approx 25 mins) and a day in Lyme Regis (approx 45 mins). As much as we loved our beach days, they were very busy places so we were happy to come back to peaceful village of Hooke
- We also had a dinner at the Marquis of Lorne (12 mins) which has a good playground
Overall a great stay in Dorset!

We had a lovely family reunion at the Old Coach House. Three generations, 4 adults, 3 children fit quite comfortably . We really appreciated the kind invitation to watch the cow milking and to visit with the sheep. All the things we wanted to do ( fossil hunting, beach visits , pumpkin picking) were all just short drives away. Breathtaking country side!

We had a lovely week staying in Hooke. The house had everything we needed, and the addition of extra toys for our toddler was a massive hit. We enjoyed exploring Dorset, particularly lovely were the beaches at Lulworth Cove, Weymouth (very toddler friendly), Lyme Regis and West Bay. The sub-tropical gardens of Abbotsbury by Chessil Beach were a hidden gem too. All in all a great place.

This is a charming house, in a great location and was perfect for three generations of our family to get together over Christmas. Decorations were provided, including a bottle of bubbly in the fridge and mince pies which made us feel very welcome!
Lovely quiet village with a little community play area for kids and walks straight from the door, which kept our Whippet happy.
We loved that we could get to the coast so quickly and surrounding towns were only 10 mins away.
Communication was spot on and we felt very grateful to have such a lovely space to meet with family again after such a long time of being apart.
We’re already hoping to come back in the Summer.
