Orchard End Reviews
We had a fabulous time exploring the countryside around Hooke. The cottage was perfect for our needs.
We had our grandchildren with us and they were thrilled to be invited to see the cows being milked, feed the sheep and find out about life on a dairy farm.

Lovely place in a quiet, tiny village. Near lots of local attractions, host was very helpful and responded quickly. Great place for a family holiday (actually we were 2 families and a dog!)

Thank you for a great stay! It was so peaceful, we loved the area. Having the valves in the neighbouring field was entertaining! A very easy, relaxing place to be with all we needed in the property. Would definitely recommend!

We had a wonderful stay at Pauline's bungalow. if you are a wildlife lover or want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city then this is the place for you. The garden backs on to a field with cows in it, which means eating a meal or sipping a glass of wine at the outside table is a real treat! There are idealic walks from the bungalow and a short walk leads you to a 13th Century Church next to a field with a beautiful white horse. Kevin who works on the farm next to the bungalow was very friendly and invited us to watch the milking of the cows which we really enjoyed. The location was perfect for us and you are not too far from Bridport and Lyme Bay etc. the washing machine and dryer came in handy when unable to dry clothes in the garden. I would definitely recommend staying at Pauline's bungalow!

We had a wonderful week in the Bungalow which is comfortable, well equipped and ideal for larger families or groups. The garden is ideal for children to play and for adults to sit and enjoy the views. There is much to visit around Dorset, and the Bungalow is right in the heart of beautiful Dorset countryside.

What a lovely cottage in a perfect location. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Orchard End and left feeling very relaxed. We received a lovely welcome when we arrived and the children loved the invitation to go on the farm and experience the cows being milked. We all made the most of the wraparound garden, especially the dog who loved playing football with the children! Amazing walks right at your doorstep and very close to the beautiful coastline. A fab family holiday enjoyed by us all.

Lovely bungalow with plenty of space for a family of 6 adults to move around - peaceful countryside location watching the cows in the field and had everything and more items for everyday use. Car is a must as the nearest shop/pub is 15 mins drive but good stocked supermarket and chinese takeaway/fish and chip shop and pub.

We had lovely week staying at the Orchard End bungalow. The hosts were so helpful and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. The farm owners were also very friendly and were more than happy to show us the milking of the cows and their animals. We all learnt some very interesting facts about farming 🙂 The bungalow is ideal for exploring the Jurassic coast. We had a very comfortable stay and was sad to leave hoping to return again soon.

A lovely bungalow on a working farm, the children loved seeing the cows milked and the lambs fed. They came back full of information. It is a distance to a shop as there isn’t one in the village, but we arranged an online Waitrose delivery. The nearest was about 25 mins away but the peace and quit was lovely.

This is an exceptionally pretty location in the middle of the Dorset countryside - blossom, bird song, hedgerows, and central for getting to many different locations. Our host made sure that everything was clean and comfortable for our arrival. Thank you!

We enjoyed our stay at orchard end. It was as advertised. Owner left us with home baked cake. One niggle would be some noise from adjacent farm clearing land ready for building; otherwise would be super quiet. Property is nice, but generally a bit dated and cluttered, and that meant some accidents waiting to happen. E.g. the shed door came off; mirror blown into sink by wind acting on blind. These niggles were minor and we enjoyed our stay.

We loved our stay at Orchard End, we were having a family reunion with members travelling from Norfolk, London and Thailand. The bungalow was perfect for our needs there was plenty of space and everything we needed was available. The location is fabulous if you enjoy being out in ‘proper’ countryside, we loved watching the cows cross the road beside the bungalow. There was a delicious cake waiting for us when we arrived along with supplies of tea, coffee and fresh milk, this was a lovely touch. All in all, excellent value for money and we would definitely go there again.
